Prologue 10:24
Colours dance in free will A solitary novice views the spectacle allow the light to penetrate and rupture your bonds fold up inside and become liberated Limbs fresh from the womb attempt the perils of a planar shift. Vertical face of stone ascends out of sight. Yet ever present orb of light a radiant wound in the throat of the darkness. Sleep Erase Expand Wisdom has a price, what are you willing to sacrifice? One day you'll fall into rivers of your own design, Yes you'll fall to the serpents of your broken mind.

Submergence 09:54
The sky burns Invocation of ancestral blood I plunge my hands into the soil and feel the pulse of countless hearts beating. Alive in the caverns of the mind a dormancy beyond time. It dwells in a primordial substance, the evils of mankind. Journey to the core Clawing through the floor. Floating over a lake of infected blood, The clouds clear and I can see it all: The past, future, and present linked by the call of Terra Immaculate I omit my fears and dive in Evolution hinders my way Currents push me astray Choking on what I've found Inching closer to the ground Journey to the core Burrow through the ocean floor Journey to the core Lungs collapsing, can't take much more. The plates shift and vacuum pulls me down Titanic force inhales without a sound Visions of a cavern underground, light dies. My reality becomes stone and void.
3.
The Machine 05:10
Millstone jaws grind. Arterial passage left behind. Sinew binds the tissue, gears turned by chains. Beast without eyes carving out veins. Boring into Earth. Swallow it whole. Erode the boulders, and hollow bone. Edge devourer Wall crumbler Crushing through Path Maker Boring into Earth. Swallow it whole. Erode the boulders, and hollow bone. Flesh and cog. Grease and blood. Endless engine. Screams and fog.
4.
Constant shift Within, Without Thrown outside myself to watch the strands unravel. All consuming event horizon. Trapped below the iron permafrost. This vortex cuts through stone. This vortex shapes the land. Resets the mortal coil. Mountains become sand. Each second the hole closes and motionless I bury myself. Slowly descend step by step. All consuming event horizon. Trapped below the iron permafrost. All my sense pray for surrender but hands form as one to melt away the ice. I need the warmth of others to survive.

Release 07:40
Writhing through this earthen hole, narrow passage of mud and bone. Stones gnaw unprotected skin. Naked, bloody, but still I persist. It's all the same a sediment maze, the paths converge. All senses used, No guiding light, for sight I yearn. Like vermin on all fours searching. Oblivion's maw opens. Semblance of time is lost I can't recall my name. A hollow shell who's losing hope, nothing to gain. Eroding, my spirit is crumbling. Frantic, constricted, and struggling. Enclosed these tunnels will become my tomb! I press on forward, though the path narrows. I've come to this point and retreat can't even save me now. I lick the walls for perspiration, what strength I can receive I'll cherish on the miles ahead. But I stop moving. This vessel's sinking. My will alone can't even break this new paralysis. This battered body, no longer suits me. I must move inward and emancipate my true self. Peel away my structure I breach the manifolds The restraints are coming loose I swallow darkness with my glow. The locks to my cage rupture and these walls hold me no more. Reality suddenly a memory. Omniscience.

Epilogue 03:43
Underground, underground, exalt my roots with an earthen crown. Underground, Underground, to expand my limbs free of gall and flame.

about

Teleportoise's long discussed first full length catalogs six songs written over their five years of activity as a band. Subterranean is an album that can throw you into deep space one minute then grab you by the face and slam you back to earth the next.

Taking a bolder attempt at a concept album than their previous release Terra, it reflects on the process of falling into depression, eventually finding peace, and emerging as a more empowered individual. All this told through the allegory of a protagonist on a journey into an underground cavern.

Proudly being one of the first bands to record with Tavis Baird at Jerrycan studios, the album was recorded live off the floor using analog tape and was mixed by Guelph music veteran Jeremy Cavan of U the band, Long Dark Road, and Got Social.

Omit your fears and dive in.

about

Teleportoise Guelph, Ontario

"This is a bit of a weird and borderline one. All things considered, we feel that this is more on the heavy, sludgy post-rock side, as opposed to metal."
